In 1949 the Golf Club had a 4 rink Bowling Green constructed which was expanded to a full sized 6 rink Bowling Green a few years later and created a section called The Upminster Bowling Club. Currently the membership comprises over 60 gentlemen and 30 ladies who bowl throughout the outdoor season, which runs from mid-April to early October.

The Club is affiliated to Bowls England and the Essex County Bowling Association, both Men's and Ladies' sections, and also to various local associations which enable Club members to enter local, County and National competitions.

The Club's Men's section currently plays in the Romford Bowling Association and the Brentwood and District Bowling Association Triples Leagues which are played in the evening and there is an afternoon League, the Clockhouse Trophy, for retired gentlemen over the age of 60. The Ladies' section plays in the Gidea Park afternoon League and also in the Hartswood Evening League. Both Men and Ladies take part in individual County and National competitions. Finally, both sections arrange friendly matches against local clubs throughout the season. There are also a number of individual competitions and Mixed Matches/Drives organised within the Club.

There are two categories of membership - full and intermediate. All members become social members of the Golf Club and can enjoy the Clubhouse facilities, including the bars, Restaurant and Snooker Room. However, intermediate members can only use the facilities during the outdoor season whilst full members can use them all year round.
